Open Weave Basket Workshop, With Materials
$127.00
Pull up a seat and experience the magic of making a basket with your own hands from the comfort of your home in this Zoom class with Carleigh Fairchild. You’ll learn how round reed can be woven into an open basket, great for holding garlic in the kitchen, being a cord caddy, or holding keys, but really, your imagination is the limit for its use.
No specialized tools or equipment needed, just basic kitchen implements. We’ll create one basket about 4” tall to keep the learning simple and focus on the experience and knowledge. Once complete you can check it off your list of things you’ve always wanted to do, or go on to make more baskets with the knowledge of how to do it simply and efficiently.
You’ll love this class if:
You want the hands-on experience of making your first basket
You like crafting and making things
You want to learn a fun and practical skill
You’ve made some baskets but want to learn a new style.
The materials kit is included in the class fee and contains everything you need to make a basket. You can also get the Extra Materials kit for an additional $30 (for you to make another basket!). You might also consider getting an awl. They aren’t necessary for the class but are super useful for basket making and will make finishing your basket easier. They are $10. These will be options when you checkout.
